Why are you running? Because I can't fly! -Redd Foxx
To me, the most free that I ever feel is when I run. Well due to this storm I can't run (very well) so I just walk. Well walking gives me a chance to think and reflect on things. I was having trouble coming up with a concept for this project. Then while walking in this winter wonderland of ours, I thought about this project and how I felt like I was burnt out on ideas for new projects as a result of being in school for 5 years straight years (including summer sessions). I haven't been on a vacation in over 2 years. As a result of my transfer, I'm not projected to graduate til 2015. There's times when I feel like I'm going crazy and I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to graduation. The only thing keeping me sane when I was back at UNCG was going to MMA training and living at home with my family. With no MMA gyms and only being able to call my family, it's a struggle to keep my head up. ...Guess I just figured out my concept for the narrative story of this project.

The Cyclical nature of things
The Cyclical Nature of Things
I kinda chose 2 life cycles and incorporated them together. One is the the life cycle of sketches. How as art students we are always bringing new ideas to life by sketching them. Sometimes they get discarded where as other times they are held onto and sometimes recycled/reused for future projects. The other life cycle is that of a tree, and how it goes from tree to being used to make paper and pencils.

Cyclical Nature of Things Pics
Cyclical Nature of things: My idea for this project starts with a tree, from which we as art students get our materials from (paper/pencil). And we use these objects together to create images and in a way sort of give life to our ideas. The materials get recycled and reused or thrown away and become compost which helps trees grow.
(More pictures to come)
